MEANING 

"Chakra" is a sanskrit word meaning wheel.  When we speak of our chakras, we are referring to the energy centers located throughout our bodies which look like a wheel when facing them, and like a vortex from the side. 

Only those who are sensitive enough to pick up their frequency can see them; however, many of us can feel their heat and vibrational pull.

WHAT DO THEY DO?

Chakras move and amplify our energy fields.   This energy affects the organs, muscle tissue, and all cells around where they are located, as well as, the "layers" or dimensions of our emotions, our psychology (personality, mood, etc.), and our soul.

Ancient traditions have known that it is wise to develop an awareness of our energies.  It is wise to pay close attention to its level of flow.  The more we surrender to this natural flow of energy, the better our quality of life.

7 MAJOR CHAKRAS 

There are many chakras in and around our bodies, however we usually work on the seven major centers which are:

7:     CROWN - oneness with the infinite, spiritual, will, wisdom, and understanding 

6:    THIRD EYE - intuition, insight, peace of mind, imagination, concentration 

5:    THROAT - power of the spoken word, any creative expression, peace, truth, loyalty, honesty, kindness

4:     HEART - unconditional love, forgiveness, compassion, understanding, oneness with life, harmony, contentment

3:     SOLAR PLEXUS - will, personal power, self-control, warmth, humor, laughter 

2:     SACRAL - desire, emotions, giving/receiving, pleasure, passionate love, birthing new ideas, surrender, relationships

1:     ROOT - master of the body, survival, individuality, security,  courage, patience, grounding, stability, familial tribe
